Why Glass Tiles and Glass Cutting Boards?   Glass Tiles Glass tiles are quite different from ceramic tiles in several ways: Glass tiles are fully transparent - ceramic tiles are not; Glass tiles are decorated on the back - ceramic tiles are decorated on the top These differences permit us to create long-lasting, full-color decorations that are very different in their appearance. Since the image is fired onto the back, or under side of the glass tiles, the decoration gains some sort of visual "depth" by being perceived as being "away" from the upper glass surface. The decorations on our glass tiles are permanently protected from mechanical abrasions by the glass itself and are, hence, scratch-proof. These glass tiles can be used as trivets (with appropriate framing)  or where ceramic tiles would not be suitable. These glass tiles are a dynamic alternative to ordinary floor coverings and are suitable for high-traffic residential and commercial applications such as kitchens, hallways, foyers, business lobbies, executive suites, and boardrooms. The tiles represent a breakthrough in longevity due to placement of the image on the back-side of the tile. This also protects the image from fading due to sunlight exposure and from wearing away due to foot traffic. Notes: We decorate to the total tile size whenever possible for individual tiles and for murals; We do not recommend using full color ceramic wall tiles nor glass tiles on floors; We do not recommend using our full-color glass tiles anywhere where they would be permanently exposed to direct sun light. All our glass tiles are decorated on the back, that is the decoration is "behind" the glass when looked at and hence is completely protected physically. Keep this in mind when mounting glass tiles with glue or any other adhesive.
